First "flush out"
Hi all, Had my first flush out of "Penny" portacath yesterday. Holey coreroly it hurt. Must remember not to book in for a Friday arvo appt again!!! I now will plan to go once every 6 weeks instea...

oh Leonie..i'm sorry u felt pain thru the flush..I am doing the flush thing now as i am about to start on pill only treatment for a while. I have had one flush done-no pain...but this is a new port as the old one became fractured (they tell me that never happens!)..we only knew it was fractured because it hurt to try and put saline thru and they couldn't seem to get a 'flow' back..
did they have any other problems on the day trying to access the port?? maybe the issue was the access-it may have been a bit off or something..hopefully you don't experience that again...they told me it should never hurt to have anything go thru..perhaps get them to check it out
