First day of AC
Today's the day. My first day of AC at Redcliffe Hospital. I'm not scared of being there. The staff there are lovely. I am anxious about coming home and what it's going to feel like. I hope I am...
I felt fine until about six hours after the treatment. Then the nausea struck. I wasn't throwing up but felt very weak and unable to stand or walk without waves of nausea coming over me. I had been given Maxalon to take in the morning, but by 9.00 I decided to take it straight away. I didn't make a lot of difference then but I went to sleep and when I woke up about 2.00am I felt quite a bit better. It looks like Robyn was right. Insomnia is part of the deal.
In the morning I am going to try and get some dry toast down so I can take the other anti-nausea medication they've given me which has to be taken with meals. I hope this nausea passes reasonably quickly or stays at a manageable level. Drinking and eating is hard because I don't feel like doing either. My daughter heated up her dinner in the microwave and if smelt horrible to me. I know I should be drinking so last night I was sucking on ice cubes. The cold is nice. Actually swallowing large amounts of liquid feels horrible though.
