First cycle of chemo all done...

Had my first cycle of AC chemo today, am feeling OK, was a little light headed after but ok now just really tired and drained...

Have all my happy pills that they gave me to take home so hopefully they all work and it keeps the nausea away...

  • Hi Kellie,

I have finished my 4 cycles of AC treatment and have just had my second Taxol.

I found that the AC was like being on a rollercoaster.  4-5 days after treatment the fatigue really set in, but after that was like climbing up to the top and having more energy, only to start going down after the next cycle, but you push through.  I had my head shaved 3 weeks after starting treatment and apart from the fatigue did not suffer the side effects which were predicted.  I think a positive attitude and the drugs really helped.

Am finding taxol not too bad yet, have had no side effects except being a bit tired on the weekend - nanna naps help.

Surgery is my next step after taxol.

Keep your chin up and just roll with the punches.

Thinking of you and all others going through this.

  • Hi Kellie,

I too am on AC combination. I have just had my 3rd round and am feeling quite tired. It is cumulative. In the scheme of things it isn't a bad one. Drugs are great! Keeps the nausea at bay.  I lost my hair 2 weeks after having my first treatment which was expected.

Let me know if I can be of any help and offer any advice. I have one one round to go before switching to paclitaxel/herceptin combo for 12 weeks (once a week!)

Good luck and hope  the side effects aren't too bad.
