first chemo
I had my first treatment yesterday and am wondering how I will feel over the next few days and weeks. It has been very overwhelming receiving so much literature and advice.
I'm looking forward to l...
It's been nearly seven months since my chemo finished but I do remember you get into a kind of routine. A bit like Robyn says. In the first week, Day 1 to 5 I experienced fatigue, a bit of nausea, heart burn, hiccups, constipation, dry mouth, weird taste all not really bad, they were managable. Day 5 to 10 I'd start to feel marginably better but still very tired and I still had intestinal problems. Day 10 to 14 was the lowest immunity time but I felt quite back to normal. Frustrating really that I couldn't go to crowded places. Day 13 my hair began to fall out and continued to fall out for a couple more days. I'd had it cut short before chemo and shaved it when it began to fall out. Couldn't stand hair all over me and most of it came out in the shower. Day 15 to 21 was quite normal and I tried to get things done before the next round. It wasn't a nice time but doable.
Hope you don't experience too many side effects Janina. Take things one day at a time and be kind to yourself.
Love and hugs
