First chemo round...

Well today is the 1st round of chemo for me, I had a very restless night, only getting about 3 hrs sleep on and off, just to nervous and scared, anxious about todays events ahead.

Fingers crossed all goes well, and i dont get too sick, as i dont like being sick. I will try and get on here over the next couple of days..just to touch base

Have a great day ladies, take care and be safe

Caron xx

  • hi Caron,

well today is D day so good luck, remember you are no; 1 priority at this point, the housework will look after itself, but if you do feel to ill, ask at your hospital for any help that is available to you and make sure you use anything which is available, and as tanya said, plenty of fluid and rest, if you are up to it, pop on here and let us know how it is going

  • Hi Caron, just a quick note to wish you well for today.  Not having had chemo or radio therapy I can't off any advice other than to get plenty of rest and most importantly listn to your body.

Don't go thinking you are superwoman and overtax your strength.  What ever doesn't get done today will still be there later (or the housework fairies might come and do it while you are away LoL)

Look after number one - YOU ...

    Cheers .... Shirl xx

  • Hi Caron

Well it is a scary time, especially the first as it is all new and unknown and everyone responds differently to different chemos.

Plenty of fluids and rest lots if you can.  I had my chemo on a Wednesday and the Saturday and Sunday of that same week were the worst for me.

    Take care.

  • HI Caron,

My thoughts are with you today. I had my first chemo on 24th dec. I was off colour for about 10 days, but I picked up a tummy bug and was sick for a few days. I had FEC Chemo, not sure what you are having. I have my next lot on Friday this week, my hair started falling out by handfuls on yesterday.

You will find you are stronger than you realise and I found having the actual chemo was a breeze. The next three days was like i was getting the flu.

Hygene is of utmost importance. Flush toilet with lid down twice. Lots of hand washing and keep your cooking area spotless.

Take it easy and lots of resting. Oh I also lost my taste and smell. So everything tastes like cardboard.

I'm thinking of you and I'm sure many more BC ladies will be with you today.

Take Care, Chin up, you can do it lovely lady...let us know how you go if you're up to it.
