First chemo - 8 out of 10 on the hell chart
Well everyone has their own experience and as I haven't felt this aweful since a bad hangover in my 20s, Id kinda forgotten what feeling sick was.
The use of the Portal was a breeze, which was my concern and the 5 hours spent in the hospital was great. Staff fantastic, no worries, even had lunch.
For me I have been feeling sick from 3pm until 10 pm, but not enough to be sick = the 8 and the other reason I didnt give this hell trip a 10 is because I havent had a reaction.
The other surprise was waking up coughing because my saliva had vacated my mouth. I had to then use Biotene mouth wash, and the aweful Gel. But I think I removed the Gel with a non sugar lolly and more water anyway. Whoke up consistantly all night and got off the lounge at 5am to get my day started.
I am not usually a complainer, but just telling what my first day was like. I will have my fingers crossed for Day 2.
Im not expecting anything, just an opportunity to drink as much water as humanly possible. I took one Coloxyl last night before bed and that worked a treat.
Was warned to take Coloxyl and Senna from tonight on. Constipation is not an option! The headache has been quite consistant too, which I put down to the dehydration.
Cheers to Day 1 ! Oh I did eat dinner, but advise on basic veg, rice and chicken. My chicken was marinated and it repeated all night! It was great to see Susan Schwabe and be looked after so brilliantly by Di Green, the highlight of Day one!
Now, what is today going to bring!
