Hello June,

Great to hear from you.  Sorry you seem to be having a rough time of it all.  I am doing well with the radiation therapy, had about 15 so far out of 30 treatments.  My oncologist arranged for me to have the Neulasta every chemo. treatment so I did not encounter any of the infection problems.  My cousin also encountered similar problems with her treatment as she was only permitted one injection due to the high cost. (I think she had her treatment at Traralgon)

We had a lovely Christmas Day here at Somerville with all the family (22 in number).  Everyone bought a dish which I had specified so we had a great selection and far too much left over!

Last Saturday we had an 'End of Chemotherapy' Lunch which amused everyone no end - they have never heard of this before, but I was so pleased and grateful to be finished with chemo. and for the love and support I have received, that I wanted to show my appreciation.  We had it catered for (spit-roast) where they come and cook on site and clear away the dishes etc. so it was a great time for us to share and chat.

I do wish you well with the rest of your treatment - there is light at the end of the tunnel and I am sure in a few months you will be feeling much better and this will be just a dim memory.

Here I am at last !.

Had my third chemo last Tuesday will be pleased to get the last over on 15th Feb- then only the herceptin. I had 5 days in hospital the week before Xmas with neutropinia which was abit rough. Am now having injections on Neulasta the day after chemo which seems to help the white cells. I didnt handle Xmas too well and have been depressed so my GP has put me on anti depressant tabs which I think are helping. Then husband Tom got a bad virus which of course was the last thing I needed. He has been sleeping out in the back room and although I didn't get his virus I developed a cough and have been on antibiotics for bronchitis-finished them this am and don't think they have done much for the cough as still the same.

How are you going with your radiation treatment? you must be well into it by now. Do you have to have 25 treatments as I did? It becomes tiring towards the end.

I bought a wig also and the family like the style so like you plan to stay that way when the hair returns. One good thing I dont have to worry about my facial fuzz at present !!

Hot day today -summer at last- but I prefer it abit cooler.

Hope the chemo is going OK. I start on 7th Dec. I had very little reaction to the radiation a sore nipple which is getting better. Ten days since I finished and am just starting to lose the tiedness and doing abit more in the house. Doing some baking today and the smell of my boiled fruit cake  through the house pleases Tom. Also did some treats for my elder grandson who is off to Europe shortly and will miss out on the family Xmas. My husband stayed with me in Traralgon and went with me each day when I had treatment. They had a good supply of magazines he enjoyed but was coming to the end of them after 25 days.

Still have a sore foot from a fall two weeks ago but it is a little better than it was. Could have done without this!

Went to a "look good feel better" workshop last Wednesday and enjoyed Got ideas on tying scarfes and came away with a host of make up. Also had some wigs on display. I have one ready for my hair loss episode which I am not looking forward. Think I will get a turban as well.

Well done with the photo!  We are in reverse with our treatment as I am half way through chemo with radiotherapy to commence in January.  I have to have 6 bouts of chemo.  How did you cope with the radiotherapy? Did your husband stay with you at Traralgon?

still finding my way around and seem to have lost your last contact -cant find it anyhow.

Home for the weekend and only have two more sessions of radiotherapy and then a gated cardiac scan on Wednesday Will be pleased to have a spell.Chemo to start 7th Dec.

I have the booklet Guide to early Breast Cancer and have found it very helpful.

I live in Bairnsdale and having radiotherapy at Traralgon Cancer Centre We have been staying at Rotary House during the week there at the back of the hospital and have found it very good but wont be sorry to get home for good. Having the cheno at Bairnsdale so will be much easier.

Yesterday when coming from the hospital I had a fall and have a very sore foot. Thought I had broken a bone in my foot but Dr said no but it is so sore and I am resting it up today. Husband Tom has put the washing out and done the shopping.

How are you going with it all?

Your diagnosis sounds similar to mine. However due to a delay in the results to my Her2 test which was positive also I had started on Radiotherapy and have six sessions to go Start Chemo and herceptin on 7th December.

Am new to the network and as away all week can only catch up at weekends.

It is great to have some support from others in the same boat.
