Finished Radiation today !!!

I know you will do just fine with the radiation treatment. I have heard the Moo Goo creams are great too and very popular amongst the ladies. My nurses wanted me to stick with the Sorbolene so that's why I didn't use anything else. But I moisturize every day and I might now try the Moo Goo as well. The radiation does intensify after treatment ends and I also was told this and I fully expect it. Today is the first time throughout all my treatment that I have felt some discomfort and lots of " heat" in my left breast. The redness is there and abit of swelling but no breaking of skin or infections thankfully. Overall I have been feeling really well. I have a wedding to go to tomorrow and it's going to be a rather long day for me so I hope I will be able to keep up with everything.   All the best and take care dianna.

Thank you very much for all your good wishes. I plan to rest and try to heal this body of mine over the next few months and hopefully by September I may look for some part time work. It feels strange not dashing off to appointments and treatments the last 2 days, but I will happily get used to it. Wishing you very well in your recovery too. Ronnie thank you so much for your response yes I feel that I could be super woman right now I have been bumping up the exercise so that is disappointing that no cardio is allowed but love to walk. I am sure it will go fast but yes it is daunting starting out. I plan to use Moo Goo heard that is excellent for the redness. I may just wait until this treatment is over to ensure my wellness to get back into the workforce. 

I have been advised that the radiation intensifys 2 - 3 weeks after its over which I didnt know.

So happy for you its all over, I am about to embark on my radiation finished my last chemo 7 May and it seems so long until the radiation starts 18 June for 6 weeks....got my tattoos yesterday.

I wanted to ask of your experience how fatigued were you? I know its different for everyone but I really want to work again soon. I was advised by a friend who went thru it that the fatigue can be worse than chemo !!

You are doing very well and it's great to hear Marg. This whole bc knocks us around emotionally and physically but for those going through chemo even more so. I have spoken to quite afew ladies at my hospital who have nausea with nearly all their cycles and it's not easy. I am happy that you are nearly finished it and will have a break before radiotherapy. Just remember to use the creams alot when the radiation begins. Let me know if you have any concerns or need some helpful tips. You will be in Bali before you know it having a wonderful holiday.

I am going ok - just tire out REALLY easily  but managing to mainly work through each cycle. can't wait for chemo to be over as I am not doing my normal things (aside from work and housework) as I don't want to mix in large crowds and get ill. but I have not been sick or had nausea so I think I am lucky and hope that continues for dose 4. I will only have 3 weeks of radiotherapy and I have found that my 3 weeks cycle on chemo go fast so I imagine that will be the same with radiotherapy. keep in touch

Yes, I have finally finished treatment today and it was a good feeling but I have been rather sore and tender this week and feeling fatigued so finishing now was good timing I think. The lymphedema has been painful with all the radiation but atleast it hasn't aggravated the condition too much. I will really focus now on the healing side of things and going to afew workshops and information days will help me better understand what we go through and how we can help our bodies through exercise and nutrition and also positve thinking through relaxation or meditation. It should be very interesting. How have you been after the 3rd chemo? Not long now until your final chemo and suddenly the rest of your other treatment will fly. I thought 5 weeks of radiation and going in 5 days a week would feel like ages but it has flown thankfully. I look forward to your updates Marg and so glad that we have this site to come to for advice and a good chat and to catch up. Look after yourself and take care.

Thank you Hazel, it's a relief to finish it all I must say, but I am also alittle nervous because suddenly you don't have the daily medical appts, scans, treatments, that are full on and then finally it ends. Well atleast for awhile  before the follow ups begin. I wish you well in your recovery too and I know it's been only afew weeks since you finished radiation too. I have already been on Tamoxifen nearly 6 weeks now and it's going okay with no major side affects, although I was told today that mood swings are normal. Hope it all goes well for you too when you start this hormone tablet too. I think apart from the odd hot flush it will be fine.
