Finished....Finito....all done

I finished my last Radiation treatment last week. Whew! glad that is over. It would seem that I did everything backwards, was dead tired at the start and bad skin and rash at the start but now and the end, feeling good. Breast tissue is red but not bad. So all in all it went well.

As I had DCIS I was lucky enough to not need chemo and had my surgery back in Feb, so now the only thing left was a discussion about tamoxifen. I went and spoke with the medical oncologist today and we decided that I don't need to take the drug. I can if I want too but I don't think it will improve my odds enough to warrant the possible side effects, so I decided not too.

So that means that apart from the yearly scans and my own BSE each month then I am done. Here's hoping it will be gone forever....finger crossed.

I will still be popping in here for a chat, nice bunch of ladies so why not.

    Hi Christina, congrats on finishing your treatment and glad to hear you've been out celebrating, you certainly deserve it! Anyway, best wishes for your recovery from the radiation and feel free to pop in any time :-) Jane xx

    Thanks Rowdy, went out to dinner with friends last night, having coffee with girlfriends tomorrow and dinner out again on Thursday night. that is about the sum of my partying...maybe a couple of drinks in celebration but my body can't handle alcohol so not too much. I hope you have a great time on Friday - well done on finishing herceptin.

    Hi Christina so good to hear you have finished, Friday is my last herceptin treatment. I wasn't as lucky as you I'm on Tamoxifen for 10 years, your right side effects not great.

    Go and party Iam on Friday
