Hi Emma May
I'm so sorry to read your story but really happy that there will be a good outcome. I had bilateral mastectomies a year ago for high-grade multi-focal, aggressive DCIS. Diagnosed at a mammogram I insisted on having four months post-surgery to remove what turned out to be a benign lump last February. I completely understand your shock and fear. I am almost finished with my reconstruction. It has been hard but I've had lots of support and love shown to me and you will get through this. If you have any questions about the surgery or reconstruction (expanders which were switched out to silicone implants and then nipple reconstruction and tattooing) please ask away. Information is key to helping you make decisions and feeling in control.
I wish you all the best of luck.
Xxx
