- StorkMemberGood morning, good news I have seen my surgeon and the Fibroadenoma has gone not trace on the scans and the surgeon told me they cannot turn cancerous, and I am now “cancer free”
I am very fortunate my breast cancer has responded to the treatment
but in life there are no guarantees moving forward I have changed my lifestyle and I am doing ramdom acts of kindness
Thank you for your support, it has been a roller coaster of a year
Stork - onemargieMemberI’m wondering too how you’ve gone @Stork. Margie. Xx
- kmakmMemberHow did you go @Stork?
- PatsyNMember@Stork My lifetime fibroadenomas were measured in mm's in April 2015 with a report saying no sign of cancer (as usual).
In April 2017 they had become 10 cms of IDC, inoperable. I was told ALL my life that fibroadenomas were not connected with cancer, like cysts. - Giovanna_BCNAMemberHello @Stork
I have attached some information below regarding fibroadenomas.

- StorkMemberHi Margie thank you for your advice.
My story is for the past 20 years I have had my mammogram done by Breast Screen Victoria at Moorabbin approx 15 years ago I had a phone call at work and was asked to come in for some more tests they found a Lump I was told it was a Fibroadenoma at the time I saw a general surgeon to have it out but I was told it was not necessary.
Last year in June I had phone call at work again I had some tests done over the time I saw 3 Breast Surgeons plus a Radiologist I was told I had breast cancer Stage 1
not once the Fibroadenoma was ever mentioned
So the 3 choices are
Lump is still in the Breast
Lump has gone
Lump has turn cancerous
I am seeing my surgeon next week for my 1st year anniversary and I will be asking lots of questions
