Femara (Letrozole) costs

When I changed from Tamoxifen to Femara, it did cost a little more but the biggest issue for me was that you only get one month’s supply per script. Tamoxifen was 2 months supply per script. Just seems like I am always needing to fill another script! It says that if I want to fill the next script before a certain date then I need to talk with the pharmacist. Why?
Oh, and you can only get 5 repeats. For Tamoxifen that meant a year’s supply per doctor’s visit. Now I have to pay for an extra doctor’s visit to get a year of Femara? Who decides these things? I guess in the scheme of things this is minor but it just seems an unnecessary inconvenience and extra cost on top of the cost of the medication.
