I think it is a good idea to ease onto these medications. I had my ovaries removed and 4 weeks later my Oncologist put me onto Arimidex and said see you in 5 months time. What a horrid 5 months it was, I kept on thinking my body would adjust. Reality is that the body was so deprived of oestrogen, of course it was going to react. In hindsight I think I would have been better to stay on the Tamoxifen which gave me no side effects, and perhaps after 12months then go onto an AI. With Femara my bones ache, still have hot flushes, when I sit for even 5 mins, I get up and am very stiff, only 4 more years to go.
