Hi Ilana. In 2012 I was diagnosed Grade2/Stage2 early breast cancer, 99% estrogen/70% progesterone no node involvement - breast conserving surgery, chemo, radiation. When I mentioned vaginal atrophy to my Oncologist and can I take estrogen cream or pessaries? she was emphatic "NO". My new Oncologist who takes a more holistic approach to his patients also said "NO". That is why I am keen to get my hands on Ospemifene. These constant UTIs are inhibiting my ability to recover and be well. I am now taking 1 x antibiotic daily for the next couple of months to see if I can break the cycle. Clinical notes indicate Ospemifene it is a real breakthrough in non-hormonal VVA treatment and may benefit bone and breast tissue.
In regard to anti estrogen hormone treatment I have CKD so for me it is more complicated and I have more to weigh up. I am also interested in your knowing more about the injections you speak of. My sister who has hip problems is having treatment that will involve taking her blood, extracting certain cells and reinjecting into the area. Her Specialist believes this will avoid surgery.
My Onco's Pharmicist is checking on the Ospemifen. I should have an answer by my next appt in early Oct.
