Hi Suzieq
I'm on Femara. I have quite a few side effects but I've learnt to manage them. For joint pains- I take Mobic (antiinflam) at night. For sleep disturbance I take low dose Avanza (anti-depressant with sedative effect). For fatigue- I go to the gym, latin dancing and have adjusted my lifestyle to cope. For hot flushes- Pristiq.
Now you may say too many meds, but my cancer is high risk for recurrence and a few tablets thru the day is a small price to pay for being alive. Unfortunately, no medication is without side effects but Femara/Arimidex have good benefits and if the side effects can be managed, the pain is worth the gain. (I'm a GP).
I am expeciting to have to go onto something for bone strength in the not too distant future (like Actonel/Fosamax). and yes, I'll just pop yet another tablet if it keeps me "healthy"!! Haha!!
I totally could not continue Femara without assistance from other meds that make my life bearable so that I can function and be a mum/friend etc.
