I am a member of a group on the Gold Coast called Cancer Support Sisters. It is good to have others who have been in similar situations to talk to. Some of the ladies in the group have stopped taking their medication and some are doing okay. However, I know of some others who stopped and ended up with breast cancer again, so it is a bit of a worry to know what to do for the best - taking into account that the medications like Tamoxifen, Arimidex and Femara have some side-affects. I am still taking my Arimidex now just over nine years and though I'd like to give it up, I was advised by my surgeon's offsider to continue to take it meantime, so I've decided to do that.
