I have just stopped taking Femara - my joints are very painful and as a horse trainer and rider I have not been able to do my work effectively. I cannot close my right hand and when I try to make a fist it is extremely painful (I did not experience this before Femara) so cannot lead a horse or ride/lunge a horse. My hips are painful and the last thing I need is hip replacements at this time. Will let you know how I go. I think as long as I have regular mammograms and ultrasounds (I have had a partial mastectomy, left breast) I will know if the breast cancer has returned. I guess I have made the decision to have a quality of life now and being in pain with constant hot flushes does not provide a good quality of life.
