Hi Lanie. You've certainly been through a lot, but hang in there because we're still here and that's important. I had two lumpectomies in Dec 2004 plus 12 lymph nodes removed, of which 3 were malignant. 28 radiotherapy treatments but no chemo. After taking Arimidex for 6 yrs and feeling terrible joint pain, my GP referred me to an oncologist for a 2nd opinion. I've been to him twice now. First time he put me on Femara which caused endless sweating as well as other side-effects such as shortness of breath and swollen ankles etc. When I saw him again this week, I suggested I might be better to go back on Arimidex but he's now prescribed Aromasin. Took the first tablet yesterday. He also wants me to have a bone infusion of Zometa annually instead of the Actonel-Combi D which I've been on, because apparently the Actonel causes something else! I have the infusion in 2 wks time. Seeing my GP tomorrow to check on all this as unfortunately, the oncologist didn't seem to answer my questions. I think I'll have to be on medication 'forever' too, so hang in there. You're not on your own. Take care. Judi
