So pleased i found this site - only had contact with the American site previously. Thought i would start with a brief history.
i was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994 and had a mastectomy and lymph nodes removed with 1 node malignant. Tamoxifen for 3 years. In March 2011 developed lymphodema and then extreme pain in arm. Finally diagnosed via MRI as tumour (5cm x 2.5cm) in the rotters node (near armpit) that had caused a DVT. Put on warfarin to dissolve clot and Femara for tumour. Clot dissolved and finished warfarin Aug 2011. Final MRI in September 2011 showed that tumour had disappeared due to Femara.Just finished 30 sessions radio and follow up CT scan in February 2012. I really hate the Femara but it did kill the tumour so i'm worried about stopping. Most of my initial symptoms have settled but i have aching ankles and my vision had deteriorated - having that checked next week. Basically i don't feel at all like the old "me" and the Onc has told me i may be on this forever - somehow i don't think so. Thanks for listening
