I was taking Arimidex for over 6yrs and it caused severe joint pain. Recently I stopped it for 14 wks, then my GP sent me for a 2nd opinion to an Oncologist. I went to him last week and he has now prescribed Femara which I've been taking for 6 days. I have not yet noticed more joint pain, but I have noticed instant hot flushes and like you, night time sweating which has kept me awake at times. I think they all have the same side-effects but maybe one type is better for one and not so good for the other person. My surgeon's offsider was not helpful, so I understand what you mean. Maybe give the Arimidex a try and see how you go, just as I am doing with Femara now. Not taking anything is a worry. Good luck and I hope we can keep in touch. Judi
