feeling like cr@@p!

FEC two has not been so kind to me!  I have had terrible stomach cramps/inability to open bowels/white spots in front of eyes when standing/shortness of breath and total exhaustion.

Yesterday thought I would have to go straight from son's state swimming champs to hospital but instead collapsed on floor in front of heater for a few hours.

Today I did not risk going for day 2.  too many anti constipation products so eventually ok there.(charming topic!)

Now day 5 after second dose so hopefully, coming out nearer the other side of the worst effects.  Felt really bad cos I was not able to hide my pain from my kids for first time.

  • No worries - hope the relatively good early start continues. Take good care of yourself. xxx

  • thanks Dette.

Have got some pears here, might go juice some now! I woke up feeling ok this morning, just tired and tummy a bit churney feeling. Trying to keep the fluids up. Off for a nap soon.

  • Hi Christie

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I'm heading into work for the morning and then having Wednesday off before I head back for FEC dose 3 on Thursday!!

If you can stomach give the pear juice and pears a go - it works for me and tastes far better!!

  • Vent away Julia!!!!

I bet you feel better having got it off your chest!

Im going for round 2 of FEC in the morning and Im hoping the side effects dont progressively get worse. Im gonna give the movicol a go this round. I used coloxyl with senna after day 4 last round and hated the stuff! I spent 45 minutes in the loo and thought my guts were gonna fall out!!!!!! sorry for the graphic nature of my description!

I wish this aweful medicine didn't cause such horrib side effects.

  • Thanks Dette,

yes, toiletting ok again...... after posting it I felt worried that I was being too negative on the site and did not want to scare anyone else off with my bad time.

Hopefully, the sun will shine tomorrow and something happy will happen.

  • Oh Julia, I almost cried when I read your post. We are always so careflu to hide things as much as possible from our kids and it hurts us probably more than them when we can't.

Hopefully the medication has worked and you've had successful toilet visits (ha ha) and a chance to really rest up today. A couple more days will make a differnece. i'm off to FEC 3 this week so hoping to cook up a storm in preparation tomorrow - even taking day off work!

Hugs and best wishes, Dette xxx
