Hi Fiona,
Welcome to the network, I was in your exact shoes allmost 3 weeks ago not knowing what to expect side affect wise I also have my chemo 3 weekly which is also 6 rounds, I found the first week was okay, the 2nd week I was feeling really tired all the time the fatigue is the worst you really need to listen to your body and the 2nd week is where your white blood cell count drops so best to avoid crowded places and to stay home and rest I hibernated as I didn't want to get any infections and the 3rd week before your next round you will feel pretty much like you can get around and do things if you are up to it get out as you will feel really good well I do the first round of chemo is a little daunting and anxiety does creep in well it did for me but the nurses and doctors were fantastic and my breast nurses are awesome sometimes I wonder how I would survive without the support you have around you I live in Darwin and the Cancer Center up here is very new and the staff are fantastic, keep your chin up and think positive thoughts, I also had my hair cut short prior to chemo as I had long hair and I would have been devestated had I not had my hair cut, I got my husband to shave my head last week and I'm glad I did because it started coming out after a week but not a lot but it was getting hard but I had to talk him into it and my best friend was here which helped a lot and if it comes out now I don't notice it as It's not long, for the first 3 rounds I'm on FEC100 also and the last 3 Docetaxel also my cancer is stage 2b but the tumors were grade 2 they originally thought there was 1 but 2 cancerous tumours and 1 large DCIS almost cancerous HER + both eastogen and Progesterone HER 2 - but my sentinal lymph node was positive so I had to have a 2nd surgery and 7 nodes were removed all okay so 1/8 nodes YOU ARE NEVER ALONE ON HERE anytime you are worried jump on here and everyone will cheer you up and give you advice if you don't have it allready get the My Journey Kit it's the best thing I ever did and It's free and so helpful I don't know what I would do without mine and allways take a support person with you to your appointments and to Chemo too keep your chin up sending you a cuddle and a smile.
