Feeling a bit low!
Hi all,
Just finished my 3rd taxol/herceptin on Friday and so far so good with physical side effects but I'm finding that I becoming more irritable and less tolerant of the little things. Husband thinks that because I'm coping very well with this regime that I'm almost back to normal and he doesn't need to help around the house as much. So who ends up doing most of it again? Therefore running myself down. I found this yesterday after running around on Saturday. I was very tired but things still needed to be done. A little whinge!!! Men! A whole new different breed. Don't get me wrong he has been very supportive but sometimes not what I need. I have to continually tell him what I want him to do which can be very draining. He seems to have no initiative at times. I'm seeing my councellor today so hopefully she can give me some strategies and also be just an ear! Maybe I'm just irritable because of the fatigue? This is a whole new different tiredness and I suppose I just have to be able to recognise the signs.
Knowing that I still have 9 more weeks of chemo to go then 9 more months of herceptin plus 7 weeks radiotherapy to come is also playing on my mind. I'm just impatient! I want an end to it now! Also not knowing if the treatment has worked which I know is a very common reaction to any treatement regime. I asked my oncologist about follow up appointments. He was very good and said that basically I will see the surgeon again once chemo has finished then I will be seeing him every 3 weeks before the herceptin and also to arrange Tamoxifen.
Well I hope everyone is as well as can be expected and that you are travelling your own journeys as best you can.
Thinking of you all often,
Take care.
