FEC two and three

Hello,

I am having FEC two next Tuesday.  My side effects for FEC one were not too bad.  I am wondering what other FEC users have found with doses two and three. Have side effects been  similar or is there a build up effect?

Thanks, Julia

  • I'm the same Julia - can't believe how hungry i am especially as I'm usually a very light eater!! Woops watch out hips!

  • Thanks Kay,

I will be going on to Doxitaxel- I think that is the same as Taxotare??

  • Hi Julia, My side effects were better on the second and third rounds. Then on the fourth it was changed to taxotare, and that hit about day 4, but was also better on the 2nd and third rounds of that.

  • Hi Julia,

I had minimal side effects from FEC 1, just some fatigue really. FEC 2 hit me a lot harder. The fatigue was so much worse, it knocked me off my feet for about 4 days then it took nearly a week to get back to "normal". I also found myself to be alot more emotional this time.

I'm going for round 3 tomorrow so will see how that goes.

Hope it all goes well for you and you only have mild side effects.

  • Great thanks, does not sound too bad for you, hopefully will be same for me.  Strangely, I seem to be hungry all the time, can't wait for the weigh in next week!

  • Hi Julia

You know most of my story but thought I would add anyway. I too had minimal side effects from FEC 1, managing to work and socialise quite a bit after day 10 or so and have again had mild effects up until now (Day 5) after FEC 2.

I found the actual chemo administration second time round not near as 'stressful' and managed to relax a little. I have been careful to listen to my body and done more "of nothing" this time round but that seems to be helping to keep me up a little later and then I'm sleeping better than last time - during post week 1 I was awake from 2.00 - 5.00am most days!!

I am persisiting with a walk every day that the weather allows - slightly shorter than last time and will try and build up in the next weeks again! Day 4 was a big nothing day this time, just sat, read, chatted, dosed and then ate a lovely meal prepared by darling husband!!

    Good luck Tuesday, Dette xxx
