Fatigue

Hi Brenda5, thankfully i dont have aquariums anymore just my birds. I used to have reptiles which carry salmonella but had to re home them all when i was looking after my mum. Gosh having cancer sucks with all the precautions we have to take. I feel paranoid lol.

Be very careful around aquariums during chemo. There is a bug you can pick up from the water and its nasty. I used to have my tanks all cleaned just before the chemo, then the fish had to rough it for 3 weeks before they got the next clean just before the next chemo. I had bearded dogs, Schnauzers and I clipped all their whiskers off during chemo so their mouths were clean when I petted them.

I guess just be mindful of handwashing and cage cleaning...maybe wear a mask when cage cleaning.  Otherwise no issue. Maybe hust less contact day 10 till 14 to be more cautious this round.

I sure hope you have someone to help you while feeling so crappy. I'm relying on my brother god help  me.

LMK74, i am just knackered after day 5, don't need to sleep but just have no energy...simple task of having a shower exhausts me, the only time i feel ok is if I'm must sitting....feel like been hit with a mack truck....have real bad tinnitis too, just ringing like a bitch, bugger me honestly!

Primek, lol. I have 5 pet cockatiels that live inside all wanting my undivided attention. Birds can carry psittacosis so I'm worried about catching something lol.

I have 5 cats and a dog and they stayed with me or on me the whole time. (1 cat always bought me a mouse chemo week as obviously I looked so unwell he thought he better get me food....lol ) no issues with pets. Just wash hands before you eat. I'd  be careful in chook yards and cleaning out litter trays though. 

Thanks Primek and brenda5, I've taken temp and fine. I do have one of those cards Brenda. The hot flushes suck . I'm actually avoiding going anywhere to limit catching something. Netflix has been my best friend this week for sure and regarding showering, I use a stool.  Just can't believe how fatigued I feel. Is it safe to be around pets?. Sorry for all the questions.

I felt like this for the entire week. By about day 8 started to feel better although hot a bit light headed if stood for too long. Week 3 good. Hense why I didn't work. If you need to rest...rest. i just watched netfkex and made sure I drank heaps. Showering was a challenge. Keep them short and if somebody around probably safer in case you get dizzy. It's hard. 1 down...3 to go. X
