Hi pink ladies... This is my first time to post here asking some questions but I'm always read all the blogs of our sisters here....this is my question...if somebody experience a rapidly falling hair after 1 yr post chemo? I had this problem for nearly a month now. I can see my hair everywhere,from bed,floor and shower. It's the top of my head that I have a lot of falling hair,it's getting really thin now,I'm so very stress of this,worried that I lost my hair again and it's very itchy too. I tried Nioxin brand shampoo/conditioner but it seems not working and now I tried Swiss hair/skin/nails vitamins,hopefully this one is working but still I can see hair everywhere.... If somebody out there have a problem like this? Is my hair coming back to grow again? Im very stress now thinking I lose my hair again. I don't have any problem except with this falling hair. I feel healthy and fit. By the way I'm 35 yrs old and diagnosed last April 2013. Pls ladies I need your comments,I'm freaking out of this falling hair.

Are you on Tamoxifen?This drug can cause hair thinning.I had this problem last year- I was cleaning hair out of my brush twice a week.I had been on Tamoxifen for 4 years.I stopped the drug and after a few months my hair stopped falling out.Severe stress can also do this to your hair.Are you on any other medications which could cause hair thinning?Also an under active thyroid can do this. You could have a blood test for that.Perhaps it's time to talk to your GP?It's very distressing losing hair and hopefully there will be an explanation. Tonya xx

Thanks for your reply Tonya...I don't have medications at all,I only had herceptin and finished August last yr. It's really annoying because even I only touch my scalp,my hair is really easy to fall out...maybe I will talk this to my GP about this problem.It give me streess thinking I lose some of my hair again.My scalp also is very dry and I notice my scalp is drying out,it looks like dandruff but I don't think it's dandruff,very itchy. Sorry for my English..English is my second language.I originally from Philippines....

That would stress me too- bad memories of losing hair from chemo.Yes,definitely see your GP - might be eczema or similar scalp problem.You may even need to see a dermatologist. Good luck.Tonya xx

I went to my GP yesterday and straight away she want me to have a blood test for my thyroid,have a scalp test and have a hair check too,so she will ring me if what's the result in the next few days...Hoping for the test will find something what's wrong with my falling hair...

Yes Swiss brand of vitamins. I didn't have any issues with my scalp such as flakiness. Your GP will hopefully steer you in the right direction. All the best Wenz x

Hi Chris thanks for your feedback...mine was on the top on my head too,that's the area that get thinner,so strange.And same as you that I have a flakey white on the top and so very very itchy similar of dandruff.It's so very depressing especially that I'm only 35,I'm so devastated looking my hair everywhere.Hopefully my GP can help with my problem,I think it's better I'm bald from chemo compare with this situation,don't know what's the cause of this :(

Thank you for your comment Wenz....what's the name of your vitamins tablets? I'm taken this liquid vitamins too,I started taken last 2 weeks ago. I had Swisse brand,for hair,skin and nails...I will try this one if it's working but want to know what's yours.Anyway I will see my GP tomorrow and I think I want to see dermatologist as we'll coz I had this white flakey on the top on my head,similar of dandruff and so very very itchy.

I too noticed my hair thinning a few years after finishing chemo. I sought help from my GP who sent me to a specialist. He believed that the thinning hair may have been genetic as my grandmother had thin hair. I was devastated as I didn't want to spend the rest of my life looking like I was going bald on top. I decided to try a course of over the counter Hair Skin and Nail vitamin tablets. Six months later I noticed my hair was not as thin and that my nails were also stronger. Now 18 months later I am really happy with how my hair looks. I never did have thick hair but at least now I am not embarrassed if the wind gets to it. It would be worthwhile trying some of those tablets. They won't hurt you and they're not expensive. Give it a go and good luck with it. Wenz xx

Thank you very much Jo,yes I will ask my GP about that....I'm just hoping my falling hair stop soon coz I'm so worried that I will lost my hair on the top.Its ok when I'm bald from chemo coz I know what happene but in this situation,it's freaking me out ;)
