Exemestane and zoladex

Hi I'm on exemsestane and Zoladex only since January 2018  but want to get off 
Exemestane 
Aches and pains dont help 

Hi @Sunshine0206,  I started on Exemestane and Zolodex.  I was only on Exemestane for 1 month then changed to tamoxifen as I still managed to have a period.

Exemestane in conjunction with Zoladex.is there something you are worried about I can get my daughter to talk to you about she had been on both for 3 years at the start she had problems but her body has settled with now she was offered a change now as it has been  3 years to stop Zoladex and Exemestane and change to tamoxifen which she has declined as her body has been  fine with both drugs now why stuff with something that is working

I started on Letrozole after I completed radiation at Easter & started it shorty afterwards.   It didn't really suit me & I wasn't happy with the side effects.  After 6 weeks, I had a checkup with my Onc & we discussed my pain issues (continual aches & pains - quite significant, given that I was already in pain with arthritis anyway .....) and she suggested I try Exemestane instead - and has been quite happy with the results since.

I still have 'some pain' but it is totally manageable!

Thank you. From what I can make out it’s a steroidal AI? The other two are non-s AI.

I spoke to pharmacist yesterday and he said the steroidal AI act more like the molecules they are trying to block.

Quite frankly I don’t care. 🤣 Long as it works.

Yes am seeing surgeon in 2 weeks to have ovaries removed.

I take Exemestane. I've tried the other two AI and this is my last option. I had my ovaries removed so I dont need the Zolodex.

 I started with Letrazole in April 2017, changed to Anastrazole 12 months later and made the final switch about a month ago. I did have an AI free holiday for a month before that.

The previous two drugs made me truly miserable. I took Tamoxifen for 5 years when I was first diagnosed and had no side effects at all. I also had a recurrence so may be no pain no gain? That's a joke BTW. Sort of. 

I don't know if it's just time, the drug free holiday (after two weeks I felt bloody fantastic, unfortunately) or whether this version suits me better, but the misery has subsided to vague displeasure. A marked improvement, but this has hardly been a reliable trial. Mxx
