Early Detection
I have recently been diagnosed (2 days ago) with a borderline Phyllodes tumor in my left breast. I found a small lump in early December and was sent for a mammogram and Ultasound. It came back pro...
Hello there Sharon and again I am just catching up on here having been stranded in Rockhampton by flooding.
Sorry to read of your Phyllodes diagnosis and hope that your treatment is satisfactory and dont forget to ask whatever you need to ask. Information is not that forthcoming from some and I am concerned that many cases are hit and miss with surgery! Patients having to ask for a biopsy and doctors happy to leave you with the diagonosis of a fibroadenoma etc is all too frequent.
Phyllodes needs surgical removal and then they disect it analyse it in the lab and this is the way to know exactly what you have and no guessing game. Phyllodes does not respond to chemo or radiation.
I hope by now that you are in good recovery and that you have good medical attention and dont be afraid to ask whatever is worrying you re your case.
All good healing vibes to you and may you have a good recovery with no nasty returns.
