DX test

Hello

I just came back from a visit from my oncologist who said that taking hormonal treatment for my tumours will increase my survival rate by 0.3%. Im not sure it is worth it. I had 3 tumours and apparently they look at them separately and given they were less that 10mm and Grade One the prognosis is pretty good. The oncologist did however stress that a DX test could help with the diagnosis. Has anyone had this test and did the results differ from the original report?

Thanks

Claudine

  • Hi Claudine. Nobody has talked to me about the test, so the only thing I know about it is that it's quite expensive, with no Medicare rebate at this stage. I don't know if any Private insurers offer any rebate. Just a thought to throw in to the equation.
