I just came back from a visit from my oncologist who said that taking hormonal treatment for my tumours will increase my survival rate by 0.3%. Im not sure it is worth it. I had 3 tumours and apparently they look at them separately and given they were less that 10mm and Grade One the prognosis is pretty good. The oncologist did however stress that a DX test could help with the diagnosis. Has anyone had this test and did the results differ from the original report?

hi, I have done some research on this kind of test its about $5000.00 and not covered by medicare if you want to message me i can forward a link to you from a south australian mp who is currently lobbying the government to allow medicare to give a rebate for this kind of test im not very computer literate so dont know how to upload the page to the bcna website,

Hi Claudine. Nobody has talked to me about the test, so the only thing I know about it is that it's quite expensive, with no Medicare rebate at this stage. I don't know if any Private insurers offer any rebate. Just a thought to throw in to the equation.
