Dreams...or lack thereof

Hi ladies...

Just wanting to see if this is the same for everyone, or just me...

Woke up this morning to Zac saying, "I had the weirdest dream last night..." and then he launches into the story about James Bond & spaceships (lol, he's such a boy)

But it got me thinking - ever since starting chemo, I haven't had a dream!

Usually, I will have quite detailed dreams that are like little movies in my head, and I can remember almost the whole lot when I wake up...at the very least, I'll wake up knowing that I had a dream, and whether it was good / bad / weird etc, but won't be able to remember what it's about.  And either of these options will happen every couple of nights.

Since chemo, nothing.

I don't get into all the dream analysing and that sort of thing, I just enjoy seeing what my head comes up with when it's left to it's own devices...clearly chemo is far too hard for my poor brain to also churn out a mini-thriller on a nightly basis! lol

Has anyone else found this??

  • I had a really bad time with my chemo, I was one of those that had trouble lifting my head of the pillow from day 3 till about day 7- 8 it was like I was in a coma, no dreams nothing just a big hole I fell into.

I had terrible chemo brain too and to be honest months later I still have some issues with that, but the dreaming is back.

    cheers

  • I used to have the occasional dream, quite vivid. Now I come to think of it, I haven't had one since I started chemo. None that I'm remembering the next day anyway. Take care,

  • I thought l may have been onto some fantastic new breakthrough re: chemo's effects on the brain....oh well! I haven't really been hit by the dreaded "chemo brain", but there's definitely something going on up there!!
