Double whammy

Good morning it 3.03am. Im a first time blogger is there anybody out there at this time of the morning.Still having trouble getting to sleep so have been reading postings on this site. Trying to think of what to say and how to write it.  Have just had surgery 10 days ago - wide local excision & sentinal lynphnode biopsy. good news is lymphnode is clear and so are the margins. I had grade two invasive (23mm)and intermediate dcis (35mm). waiting for rediation and poss chemo because of size. Finding out I had BC was the first sucker punch the second was after all other tests ie CT Bone scans ect. to be told there is a Primary Bronchiogenic Neoplasm on my right lung. Am feeling, hell I don't know what I'm feeling whether to laugh or cry, I am going back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off for all tests and surgery. Not sure of anything at this moment . You girls are right about the roller coaster its one ride I don't want to be on but perhaps I will make some new friends along the way. Cheers for now and hoping to have some conversations with you gals soon . J

  • Welcome to the bcna site. The girls above have said it all so well. You don't get much time to think about it and before you know it you are on this scary ,pink conveyor belt. I'm so sorry you have been delt a double whammy. It's a "sick to the pit of the stomach"feeling when you get a cancer diagnosis.Once you get a plan/treatment in place you won't feel quite so shell shocked.I've had b cancer twice. The first time was 2003 when I had a lumpectmy, full node clearance and radiation. It came back in the same spot last year(7 yrs later) so had a mastectomy and chemo. As far as I know it's nowhere else but who can tell. We are all here for each other so blog away anytime. We understand your fears and you are not alone.

  • Hi Jenny, You poor love, you have been dealt a really bad hand hey!.Life can be so cruel, but your in the right place to receive some valuable friendships over the net.

It doesn't matter if you have one lump or ten or what your treatment plan will be because we all  have this one thing in common that has bonded us all together on here. We are one of a kind.

I don't know a lot about  Bronchiogenic Neoplasm except what i just looked up on the computer and I'm so sorry for you to have to deal with this as well as BC, but please feel free to talk about it too if you need to.

One thing i have found with all these Breast Cancer ladies is no one is different, everyone has compassion and empathy for others in need and it doesn't matter if you  have a silly question someone will always answer.

You will travel  a rough road  at times to get to the end  but you can do it  Jenny,  just like all the  other brave women on this site and remember   there is no right or wrong way to deal with all this pain. .  Good luck with this journey

    cheers Jo xxx

  • Hi Jenny, welcome to this site, where you are never alone on your journey. We can all relate to how you are feeling as each and everyone of us are experiencing the roller coaster ride you are undertaking. it is ok to cry, to get angry, to vent, as we are grieving the loss of many things, but as I have found, life does go on and we learn to "live with cancer". Whenever you need to be amongst others in the same boat you will find something you can relate to on this site. good Luck on your journey, we are all with you xx

  • Hello Jenny,

So sorry you are riding this rollercoaster too, it is a journey no one wants to take. I have found the beautiful ladies on here to be very supportive and caring and I am sure you will find them the same. I am also new to BC and finding there are many ups and downs in my journey.  If you want to cry then go ahead and cry, your emotions will be all over the place but having a good cry will make you feel better afterwards. I have cried many tears in the last month . My thoughts are with you at this difficult time Jenny, hang in there mate.
