@Tarynya74 - It really does come down to personal choice, when I did my last Chemo in December, my Oncologist said Women in my position were knocking the door down to get a Mastectomy. Ive gone slowly in my decisions based on my diagnosis, I saw my Surgeon on Wednesday and as my BRCA Gene is negative we have clear view. In light of a recurrence, I never had lymph node involvement, always had clear margins both times and aggressive treatment both times. I dont want a Mastectomy, HOWEVER...for me now the fear of another recurrence is greater, so I see a Plastic Surgeon next month to discuss my options which are only Diep Flap. My Oncologist said alot of women opt to just have a mastectomy regardless of diagnosis purely to not worry again. So absolutely in your rights to do whatever YOU WANT!
Hugs, xo
