Docetaxel rash

Hi all,

Has anyone else experienced a bad itchy rash after docetaxel? It came up a few days after the treatment -- on my head, neck, shoulders -- itchy red bumps. I still have it 10 days after treatment! I've been using nappy rash cream but it's not really doing the trick. Any suggestions?

  • My Doctor told me it was thrush. She gave me Canestan cream to put on it but I found Curash powder better. I had it under my remaining boob and in my groin. I couldnt wear nickers at all for about three weeks. Just got rid of it and it was time for the next round of docetaxel. It is one mean SOB. And I I had to have more than 3 lots i was going to refuse. Just nasty.I suggest you talk to your oncol nurses and get it sorted ASAP and it doesnt get better by it self.

    Take care

  • thanks Leonie, will def ask about it, it's driving me bananas :-)

  • Hi Heather,  No I must say this is not something that I have experienced.  I do get a red "look" on my neck on the first day then it rises to part of my face the next day.  Then it is gone.  Seems like a bit of a reaction for you.  Have you spoken to the oncology nurses?  Our make-up is so individual and we all react differently but it is worth checking it out with the nurses.  XLeonie
