Hi Janey, my advice would be to take your time and make sure you feel right with your decision . I had a mastectomy in 2011 and then chose to have the other breast off in 2012. I new from the start I wanted to have the other of as a precoration , as I would just worry that it would turn up in the other breast. At the time of my first mastectomy my surgeon would not do the other breast said to wait 12 mths. I would rather have had them done together. I did what was right for me every one is different . I have no regrets. It is a big decision . Good luck. Debbie .
