Hi Kerry,
Do you have your life back? Mmmmm I don't think you are ever the same after a cancer diagnosis. I too am almost 12 months post treatment. Diagnosed June 2011, lumpectomy followed by mastectomy, then 6 cycles of chemo, 3 weeks of radiation and have now been on Tamoxifen since Jan. I sometimes think, omg this time last year .......... I am feeling so good at the moment, mainly because I have just had a ct and bone scan - both clear of mets, which is great because I have had some concern re some ongoing shoulder pain. And I am booked in for a reconstruction at the end of Nov. My only option really is for a tram flap recon due to radiation etc and I certainly have enough tummy (after 3 children) so while I know it is a long recovery I simply just can't wait to be all put back together again. My prosthesis is uncomfortable and I am so self conscious with anything that is slightly low cut. Not that I ever had an amazing chest before but I was happy with what I has so was devastated to lose my breast. I am happy to let you know how my recon goes. At the moment I am busy trying to lose some weight and get fit in advance of the surgery. Wishing you all the best. Xxx
