Discoloured and sore toenails and Hormone Blockers

Hi everyone.  I finished my 12 week Taxol treatment one month ago and have noticed some ongoing side effects.  I have noticed daily hair loss in my brush (i did cold capping and worked very well, lost 30%) , my toenails are lifting, sore and discoloured.  This has taken me by surprise as I thought this would ease.  Toenails are very sore and will struggle to wear enclosed shoes for exercising.  If anyone has any treatments they use for their toenails that helps to ease discomfort would be appreciated.  I am also due to go on hormone blockers, not sure which one yet, I am post men.  I was curious to know once on Hormone Blockers how long before any side effects kick in, if any, as I am considering returning to work early May.  Thanks.
  • My toenails were quite slow to recover and it was years later that I realised  I might have had some fungal problem on top of the discolouration and splitting. You might want to get some advice on what’s what. Chances are it’s just a slow process. I have been on Letrozole (Femara) for over nine years - I do have some side effects but nothing that stopped me working. Joint pain and menopausal type symptoms are quite common, but I didn’t have any of those. Those who have experienced those side effects sometimes find they abate after the initial months. A bit like chemo really, very different side effects often and you don’t know till you start. Best wishes.
