You are right no one deserves this disease. It must be hard being on the other side of the bed, as patient instead of nurse.
Ironically I was attending the local Holman Clinic on a site visit with the intention of working there & commencing the radiotherapy course, an hour before I got my diagnosis. I had to decline the interview and said I'll be seeing them later on anyway. Another ironic twist is that as an ex radiographer I may be able to get back into practice as a breast screen mammographer. All good options that can help other ladies in their journey.
It's not fair, but look at how much your recent experience with breast cancer can help you to relate to your patients in the future and put that to some good.
I see my journey as a way to help and encourage others. Perhaps with time it will be the same for you.
In the meantime, be kind to yourself and rest up. You deserve it!
