Dilema

Story so far, bi-lateral mastectomy with a reconstruction done at same time 11 months ago, 3 months of chemo, then tamoxifen. Having major issues on tamoxifen just had a full histerectomy due to complications from this drug. My dilema is do i stay on this drug is there anything else out there? My body is very sensitive to drugs. Stuggling to cope with the side effects, I'm only 42 and usually very fit and active, but this drug is taking that from me.

    I'm not sure what side effects you are suffering from on Tamoxifen.I had bad hot flushes,irritability and sleep issues.I now take a very low dose antidepressant called Endep(10mg)which helps with all of the above.It agrees with me -no side effects.Tamoxifen has been around the longest and is very effective.My oncologist is reluctant to rock the boat so wants me to stay on Tamoxifen for 5 years at least - 3 down, 2 to go!
