DIEP Surgery Done

Well it is day 10 post surgery and I am doing very well but boy what a marathon it has been. There were no ‘major’ hiccups, thank goodness, even with fairly smooth sailing this operation...

Thanks for the encouragement about the other lady you know who went with DP for one DIEP and one implant. It's good to hear she looks great. I don't have a surgery date yet but i think I may make some calls tomorrow and see what I can organise. DP is saying he wants to wait 3 months after radio before he will operate. I thought perhaps in that time I could have the other mastectomy and expander, and then by time 3 months is up he'll be able to swop it for silicone when he does the DIEP on the other side. Other wise its a long wait for anything to get done. It really feel its dragging everything out. I thought it may be a two month wait (which is still long!). I want to give him a call and see if he will negotiate!

Sue how are you feeling about the surgery. How many times have you met with DP to plan surgery? Had you had radio and needed a wait time?
