Diep op
Hi ,
I'm 47 years old mother of two girls 21& 18. I was diagnosed on the 16th May 2013, TNBC stage 3.
Ive just had my 4th and last round of chemo on Monday.
Each round has come with its own stories but some how you just dig deep and stay positive.
I'm not having radiotherapy due to the fact of I'm having to have a Bilateral mastectomy on the 5th of October.
Dr Hamish Farrow is my surgeon from the Epworth in Melbourne and I click with him straight away. He has suggested I have the Diep procedure where they take the veins and skin from my stomach and leave my muscle. This is a faster recovery and not as sore.
To be totally honest I'm feeling more nervous about this than I was about having chemo.
It would be great if there is anyone who has had this type of surgery and could give me some first hand feedback.
Thanks Sallie
