just wondering how common it is to have an MRI when diagnosed with breast cancer. Are there any any rules about when it is/isn't appropriate? seems like most people have one? thanks for your...
Thanks everyone, I'm actually curious because I had a mastectomy in July without an MRI and every dr since has been surprised that I didn't have one.
i had 4 grade 3 tumors (2 didnt show in any mammogram or ultrasound - dense breasts) and nodes were positive and chest wall and I'm under 40. That's why I was just wondering if there were rules about who has one. I'm unable to have one now because I have an expander in but in hindsight I really wish I did!
