Diagnosed today

Today I was diagnosed with Invasive ductal carcinoma grade 2.  Tomorrow I am meeting with a surgeon, Dr Peter Schwartz to discuss treatment.  This is a bolt from the blue and a result from a routine mamogram that my doctor suggest I have following a pap smear, based purely on my age. No family history and no lump, just a routine test.   I am 41 years old, married with two amazing daughters.  I am hoping tomorrow will shed some light as I have absolutely no idea of what I am in for as far as treatment, work, family, prognosis etc....pretty much everything!!   I would love to talk with other ladies in the same boat who might be able to share their stories.   THanks so much. • It's the hardest thing to hear those words you have bc, it's like bottom falls out of your stomach, but you do get past it, at least it's been found and you can be guided by your doctor. It's hard but it's do able. It's great you've found this site . Make sure you take someone with you sometimes things just don't sink in and it's a blur, it's good to have another pair of eyes and ears. You will be fine . Regards adean
