Diagnosed nearly 5 weeks ago now!

Am getting worried that they have forgotten about me? Its been nearly five weeks... thought i was going in for an op on the 26th but got told last friday (when i had my core biopsy, mammogram and another ultrasound) that this is when they will discuss treatment...

Does no news mean good news?? My family said it cant be serious otherwise i would have been operated on well before now..

This waiting is beginning to take its toll.. have been so patient... just need a plan... so i can have some control..

  • thankyou Louie, i will follow this up and get a copy of the pathology report... , will also call the breast care nurse... have her number.... so good to talk to someone who understands and YES go the 26th!!... only seven more sleeps!!

And Annie i will sit with my son.... Think this is just as hard for the people that are close to us..

Thanks so much girls... you both helped me a lot xxxx

  • Oh gees, I finished writing my post to your first comment and then saw this message and felt lame. You poor thing.....breast cancer is hard on the whole family. But you need strength around you now. Stay strong and you will find a way to get through this. Keep up the rants here online, that might help you vent some frustrations. Your boys will come around, they may need time. L:)
  • Hi lanai lumps, the waiting is agonizing. Everything seems to happen so slowly, but perhaps the 26th will be to discuss the outcome of the scans etc, and treatment from then. I was diagnosed 12 June after biopsy and scans. It was a week until results were available.. This is when you'll get the pathology report ( or you doctor will). I asked for a copy and researched everything on it. I found this really helped with my understanding of the situation for when I met with the surgeon. You may have been given the number of a breast care nurse who you can contact even before you see the surgeon, or after for further clarification on things. I found that helpful too, discussing details with someone in the know was great. Just remember to check the currency of the info you find as there is some older info out there, and some treatments have advanced. I am in nowhere land right now too, waiting for the second surgery as they did not get clear margins, and have not heard from the oncologist yet. If you are really worried, maybe just call your doctor to see where things are up to. My second op is the 26th, so good luck to us, Louie
