Dental Assistance PLease

Hello, I need your help. I have almost finished my cancer treatment and I want to be able to smile broadly about beating cancer.
However my teeth have become terribly discoloured, chipped, broken, fillings have fallen out and I have worn them down due to me grinding them in my sleep from stress.
I have tried (quite unsuccessfully) to continue working to support myself therefor I do not have a Healthcare card and are not on a pension.
Can anyone help me with some contact details of dentists or clinics (in Melbourne / West Melbourne / Geelong) that will offer me free dental repairs, bulk billed dental repairs or discounted dental repairs for cancer patients?
Thank you xx

  • I ask my rdiologist and GP about this and because I am not on a helath care card or a pension there is nothing available to me.

Even the government prrogram "Enhanced Primary Care" no longer covers dental assistant.

I am totally stuck now with shocking teeth, a horrible smile and no where to go for help.  Dental repairs are so very, very expensive - devestated.

  • Thank you very much for your recommendation. I will be sure to ask my radioligist and oncologist to see if i can be referred to a public dental clinic at the hospital (if there is one).

I want to be able to smile confidently when I beat cancer.

  • Thank you, I will ask my Dr.  But given that this is through DHS does it only cover you if I am on a pension or health care card.  I am supporting myself and trying to contiue to work throughout all of my cancer journey and therefor i do not have either.

  • www.dhsv.org.au Hi I googled the dental health victoria plans and through DHS there are severa clinics in Geelong area. I am not sure if you need a referral or can get one through your GP. always the first port of call. Good Luck!
