Defective BRCA1 & BRCA2 gene

Hi

I'm experiencing a loss of family members and have just tested for this gene, does anyone have any info about what their thoughts are???

  • It's always a bit tricky with new websites/social media sites -- they're all different!  So don't think twice about asking if you get stuck, someone will help out.  Also, there's no 'wrong way' so don't worry about trying new things out -- you really can't break anything. :)

    Did you find the downloadable user guide, yet?  Some people find it helpful to print that out and have it nearby the computer.  It's on the Help page -- if you scroll up the page, you'll see it just above your pink profile box, but here's the link to click if that's easier: http://www.bcna.org.au/help.

  • That's what I was looking for!

    I was starting to get overwhelmed with the site and how I didn't know how to do anything.

    Thank you Di

  • Hi Heidi, fingers crossed for you and some good results.

    You may have already found the website page on Family History, but in case you haven't I thought I'd give you the link: http://www.bcna.org.au/about-breast-cancer/breast-cancer-family.

    The other thing you can do is use the site's main search function to see if others have posted on the subject.  Just scroll up and you'll see the search field above the main navigation bar.  Type in 'BRCA1' or 'BRCA2' and when the results come back you'll see on the right side which are blog posts.  I did one on 'BRCA1' if you want to check the results are here: http://www.bcna.org.au/search/node/BRCA1. ;

    Hope that helps. :)
