Debrusk is Deb T

Hi Guys,  Havent forgotten all of you. But have had a tough few weeks as govt has slashed my Department and have major loss of jobs and VR to manage - probably my own too.

I have started to make contact with key people including the breast care nurse, Area health director about loss of lymphatic drainage facility, and the press.  I sent off my press realese but no joy as yet.  Next will be exisiting support groups.  Am going to field of pink breakfast on the weekend and will also start talking to our female mayor about more localised support.

I am slow starter!

Hope all is OK

Deb

  • I'm sure your Pink event is going to be a huge success!  You'll charm everyone who attends :)  I was thinking of your daughter the other day when a couple of my friends' were talking about the pressure their kids were feeling and remembering back an eternity ago when I sat it!!!  LOL!   OMG The pressure was bad then - I hate to think what the kids of today are facing.

All I can say is all the very best to her - I'm sure she'll do her best!!  But if her results don't get her the enter scores she needs for whatever career she's thinking of, I truly believe there'll be a reason for that - that perhaps she was destined for another path in her life.

I'm sorry to hear of the side effects you've been suffering but glad you've been taken off the Arimidex...I'm having problems with the Tamoxifin - terrible hot flushes, not sleeping well at ALL and some crippling headaches...don't know if they are all related to it but I'm going to the doctor's tomorrow to chat about it.

Anyway do let us all know how your daughter goes!  We're all cheering for her!

    Lots of luv

    Helen

  • Hi Girls,  yes, my momentum is slow, but my heart is still warm.  Aim to hold a pink event in a couple of week.... soo much to do yet.  Hopefully Cyndie and I will recruit many for our pink night in!  Yet to send promo to paper.  Only working one day this week.... so would be good to do.  Am soooo impressed with you Helen. wow!  And Deb, all the best with your job.

For my part, my daughter is doing her HSC exam and the pressure is on.Have started a course with the cancer council, called Enrich.  Am hoping to connect with some of the participants.  And maybe lose some weight!!

And challenges with side effects, led my oncologist to take me off the Arimidex.  Not all bad, I needed to go on an anti-aniexty med (another side effect) and actually feel better... there is always hope!!
