Yes, @Olivegreen - diagnosed in 2014 with high grade extensive DCIS I was given a mastectomy which did not spare nipples or skin. No other options were given. DCIS does have the 'C word' in it and whilst it may not kill you immediately if left untreated it could spread outside the ducts. Mine was so close I was fortunate it was stopped in its tracks. Yep, let the surgeons whip off our breasts for the fun of it ! All the best.
