Yes, it is a strange predicament. I do feel let down that the education pre and post op seems to be so poor. Ash-lee were you not offered a skin sparing mastectomy? Poor form if you weren't. Everyone should be offered skin sparing, unless there are skin issues from radiation etc. I would have liked more info on nipple sparing in hind sight. Some times I feel doctors think women are dummies and wouldn't understand the info, so they keep it simple and basic. I am annoyed at the lack of info, and lack of encouragement to take more time to seek all the info I needed to feel truly comfortable. It all happens so so quickly.
