You are right!  I have no idea what to expect and can't make any plans concerning when or how much work I can do either.  

Trying my hardest to be optimistic about my future though and to see this as treatment that is working and understand that even if I have to have a "New Normal", it could actually be better than the old normal.

Hi Julie

Thanks for the great tips, especially carrying a mask with you.  That is something I will definitely get for myself.  I already have the hand sanitizer and tissues etc.

I am wondering now, how do you handle it if say your husband or children get a virus.  What would be the protocol in the home besides washing hands.  Do you wear a mask yourself, or get them too, or both?  This germ thing for me could become an obsession lol.  

We are going through so much liquid soap in our house and I am already obsessed with washing my hands.

Thanks Hazel, yes I did catch up with my sister and her husband.  It was lovely and I am still feeling happy since my little outing.  My weight seems to have stabalized now, which is a little bit of a relief as I couldn't quiet understand why it was dropping off so fast while I have been languishing on the lounge and eating heaps.  I have actually been able to eat the same meals as the family and my have added more fruits and vegetables to what I had already considerd a healthy diet. It could be I have eliminated sugar total, except for half a peice of cake yesterday lol, haven't felt like eating as much bread.  

I hope your oncologist can sort out your fluid problem Hazel and will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Even though I had a great time yesterday, I did decide that it is only a few days really to stay safe.  I am a medical receptionist and have been for a long time and have seen many chemo patients having to be admitted to hospital with infections.  We always isolated them from the main waiting room too.  So with this in mind and the fact that I am feeling much better in this second week, I will go easy on housework in 1st week, catch up in 2nd week and socialise etc on 3rd week.  Of course, won't mind a visitor or two during first two weeks and drives to the beach or park.

This way I think I can maintain some sort of normality and some things to look forward too.  Also, having a bit of structure will give me a sense of control.  I'm not a control freak really lol but we do lose a lot during this journey.  Just wanting to reclaim a little so that even though I am in a holding pattern, in some small ways I am still moving forward, if this makes sense.
