Day 8 Into 1st Chemo

Hi everyone, been missing for the last week but now I'm back. Tad stressful with my apartment being flooded with water and mouldy carpets. Apart from that all good. I'm now day 8 into my 1st cycle of FEC and feel surprisingly really good. Don't know if the worst is to come but thankful I'm feeling alright. Small changes of course but nothing too drastic. Firstly the odd day I need a nap and I'm having very vivd crazy dreams, not nightmares but really sureal. My skin is an absolute mess, covered with spots on my face and chest area. From a young age I've always been very neurotic about my skin and hardley ever gets spots so its strange. My scalp is also a bit itcy and flakey but no hair loss yet. On a positive note my lovely husband got me Bruce Springsteen tickets ( I love him) and my Mum gets here in a few hours. All in all I'm a happy camper at the moment. xxxx

  • The hair loss is worrying me a little but its part of getting better.

My hair until 6 weeks ago was really long, half way down my back. Went for a Michelle Williams style pixie cut and I really liked it. My hair usually grows really fast. I could probably  do with getting it cut again.

  • Hey Gilliann

That is great news that you are going well.  Not everyone suffers too bad with chemo.  It is accumulative though so listen to your body and rest when you need to, drink lots of fluids and exercise a lil when and if you can.  I have my fingers crossed that you breeze through your chemo.

Sounds like you are getting some of the hair loss signs with itchy scalp etc. but normally doesn't start to fall our till 12- 14 days following your first chemo.  Are you going to get it cut shorter before this happens.

I am so happy for you darlin that you will have your mum with you and I am so looking forward to meeting you both on Saturday.

Enjoy your time with your precious mum and I am sure you gave your hubby big hugs and kisses for getting you that lovely surprise.

Nurture yourself and just listen to your body.

    C u Saturday.

    Lots of love,Mich xoxoxoxo
